BDSM is a comprehensive category used to describe patterns of human sexual behavior that are interconnected, primarily revolving around the letters in the acronym itself: Bondage (B) stands for Bondage and Discipline, which involves restraining partners using ropes, chains, or other means to control movement, commonly combined with artistic rope bondage. D refers to Domination & Submission, focusing on psychological control and obedience within the relationship, while S/M represents Sadism and Masochism, emphasizing pleasure derived from inflicting or receiving pain, discipline, and humiliation.
Dominance & Submission (D/s):Relationship dynamics where one person takes the dominant role and the other takes the submissive role.
In the relationship patterns derived from BDSM, S refers to Sadist, abbreviation of Sadism, representing the dominant, controlling partner in S/M dynamics, primarily deriving pleasure from inflicting pain or control on the submissive partner.
